Hello,
I do not cut videos much, apart from Quicktime 7.
Sometimes I used as well iMovie 6.0.3 on Mavericks.
Today I took it to Mojave, what is able to run 32bit apps, but it doesnt run.
I read, to use it on Mojave, 6.0.5 (maybe Update?) would be necessary.
The old Apple download site has changend, and the old software stuff is away.
Does anyone know if Apple has still another download link ?
Thank you!

You can find it here.

This being Mojave, you may also need to do some under-the-bonnet tinkering to get Mojave to permit older Apple applications permissions under Privacy & Security. I had to do so with QuickTime 7.

Hi Robert,
many thanks for your reply and the links.
I just got 6.0.5 and it works out of the box.
Without tinkering TCC.
I have long time quicktime 7 on Mojave and don't remember having changed something to get it running..
Anyway, I copied the modification instruction.
I already was looking for a system file that avoids starting iMovie and was inside "compatibilityNotificationData".
But no success in that way.

Thank you much for your help.
The text you posted on your website... I have 100% the same opinion.

anyway, for you as well and specially,
many thanks!

I tried to change the Info.plist of my own old 6.0.3 to 6.0.4, 6.0.5, 6.0.6.
Result:
03 and 04 nogo.
05 and 06 works.
It seems to me that Apple blocked all "real" versions. And that 04 was the latest.
Beyond that it worked, probably because other version numbers are not blocked.
If you do this, dont forget to log out and in, or copy the app to another folder
to update the finder icon.

I don't remember where it is off the top of my head, but macOS has an "incompatible apps" list somewhere in the System folder. iMovie is listed. If you disable SIP, you can remove it from the list and iMovie will work (although it will be somewhat crash prone). I don't think I ever did this on Mojave but I did on High Sierra.

Aha, I found my old post on Ask Different. The blacklist is /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/Exceptions.plist.

Oh yes, thank you..
Y knew there was a file from searching around some years ago, but I didn't remember that.
I just tried and works, thank you!
(What I have changed was "launch override")
