Hey there - I'm fairly new to using a Mac, but not to digital video editing.

All I need iMovie to do is reverse a three second clip. Now, it says in the help section that it can't reverse a PAL-format clip. So I converted the clip to a Quicktime NTSC format using the 'Share' option. I have tried importing it back into the original sequence I modified it from - still no reverse option.
I've also tried creating a new project, and using that to reverse the clip, but for some reason, iMovie always makes it into DV-PAL format, no matter what I select it to be saved as...

Not even sneaking up on it and quickly hitting ⌘r seems to do the trick!

ANY help with this would be awesome. I basicaly need to know how to tell iMovie to make it either a MPEG-4 file, NTSC, or whatever I need to do to get this reverse shot!

When you created the new project, what did you use for "Video Settings" in the new project dialog?

Bizarre. I've reversed a PAL format shot in iMovie several times.

You need to close your current project. Then go into new project and change the preferences and then Quit iMovie. Next time you open it, it should default to NTSC (unless you have the PAL camera connected in which case it might autosense it and go back)
