iMovie - how to show my original file seconds

Hello
I have a movie that i need to edit and i have some instracusions that says "take from the 1:23 to 1:45 , 2:56 to 3:45" and make from this 2 peaces a new film.
i can't see the seconds in the iMovie import windows (not in the timeline) - is there a way to show the timing also in the upper left windows (where my import is)

Your time should show in the timeline in the lower window of iMovie. Currently at work so can not post image. You should also be able to edit the length of your movie in that lower timeline as well.

The current version of iMovie doesn't show the time position of the playhead.

"take from the 1:23 to 1:45 , 2:56 to 3:45" and make from this 2 peaces a new film.

If you can open your video in Quicktime, you can do that by using Quicktime's Trim function.

Thanks. at the end I took the entire movie to the timeline and split the movie in the positions I needed and than deleted the other parts - many thanks for your help .
