Hi,
I'm confused about imovie's disk usage, perhaps it's something you could help shed some light on.

On Icloud it takes 0.1Kb which feels too little, on disk it takes 900Mb of documents and data that feels too much.

I have roughly 10 movie projects.
The app is not keeping videos stored inside but referencing them so it shouldn't take space.

Lastly I would like to delete the icloud imovie data (0.1kb) and create it again but the iphone warms me that doing so will also delete the iphone's data?

thanks a lot

What do you mean by “referencing”?! If you’re working on projects actively then the data will be stored within the app.

So with that in mind, it seems to be working as designed. It’s not taking space in iCloud because you haven’t saved them as exports and it shows more space being used on your phone because they’re still in edit mode?!

videos seems to not be stored within the app but linked to their position within the camera roll.

You can test this by deleting videos from the camera roll and opening imovies again. It then complains that required referenced videos are now missing.
Restoring videos makes the projects opening again in imovie.

Any ideas?

It would be awesome to free up 900Mb considering no videos are stored in the app's space.

Thx
