Hi I'm a mac newbie, and I've taken an avi on a pc, and played with it, put it in windows movie maker then made it a media player file, and then put it into ppt. and it looked good.

Now I'm taking the same avi file, playing with it in Imovie hd, turning it into a QT (through the sharing option), and putting it into mac.ppt, and the quality aint so good. I love the imovie adjustments I can make, but I think I'm screwing up how I'm making it a QT. Is there a better way to render it, or turn it into a QT, that's also easy so that I can preserve the quality? When I finally get the edited piece into ppt on my mac, it's got lines on it - and I know my mac can do better. I have Idvd, and fnl cut pro too, tho I was hoping to learn fcp a bit more before having to crack it open...
thanks!

What kind of compression did you use? H.264 is the best quality with minimum file size.
