I remember it being free in the last update of OSx or the one before that, and I had to uninstall it(after downloading it for free) because of storage issues

Now I want it and I see its $14.99 on the MAC app store...Whaaat?

    Is it just me?

    I'm in Canada btw

    Help pls

If you had it before, you can get it back from App Store without paying again. Just use the Apple ID that you used to purchase it the first time.

iMovie has always been a paid app (except a few times pre-Intel). It only comes "free" with a hardware purchase. If you accepted it with your Apple ID, sign in and reinstall it.

iMovie comes pre-installed on every Mac so why would it ever need to be a paid for?

New Macs only. If you buy a used Mac, after a clean install those apps must be purchased. When you buy a new Mac, you have to "accept" the apps in the App Store then they are linked to your Apple ID, not the machine.

Other examples are people with older Macs that came with pre-App Store versions, and then do a clean install (unless they have the install disc).
