Hello everyone!

Just wanted to share this video with you!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WnJ8rtrYxI

If you wonder why I show a unedited video then a edited video it was something I was asked to do on another site to demonstrate video quality!

As you may agree it's fantastic for a phone and iMovie is just a joy to use! So easy and fast to create something half decent.

My gripes with iMovie:

-Can't split a long clip, you have to drag it in the timeline twice and crop both at the same point which is almost impossible.

-Titles last the length of the clip. If you could split like I said then you could have a title that only shows for the first 5 or so seconds so that it is not blocking half of the screen.

-Only 1 real transition (Cross fade) The theme transitions are ok but are too specific.

If those are added then I think I would find it to be much more useful.

I like the idea of iMovie on the iPhone but if you have a Mac why not just upload the video to your mac then mess with it on that iMovie?

Seems it would be a lot simpler. I dont have any intentions of buying the iMovie app b/c I'm just gonna be uploading them to my mac and doing it that way.

You video has a strange discolored circle in the middle of it.

Might be like the issues reported in that other thread.

I shot, edited with iMovie, and uploaded to YouTube all through my iPhone on the beach. However the upload through the iPhone doesn't give full 720p. So I uploaded from my home computer when I got home.

If I have to use my computer to upload full resolution, I may as well edit on my computer on the full iMovie version.

Here is that video I shot/edited on the beach:

Is there a user manual anywhere for iMovie? I made a clip with a theme but thats all i could end up figuring out. Unless the app is WAY less in-depth than i thought...

FYI - To link direct to the HD version of a movie simply add &hd=1 on the end of the YouTube link :)

i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WnJ8rtrYxI&hd=1

Nice little video..

Having taken a few videos myself a feel the camera could do with some anti-shake on it though, not sure if that's software or hardware based though so goodness knows if it will be something Apple will offer/add or not?!

Does iPhone 4 send 720p video when recorded and emailed from the factory or is iMovie required to export in 720p?

You guys are lucky. I haven't been able to export anything. Keeps crashing on me. Sucks, I have a little movie I want to send to my mom of my Vegas vacation.

neither. You have to upload it from your computer if you wish to upload in 720p. only 360 from the phone.

I am with you about the title on the clips.. They should have their own layer like audio and video does IMO.

Which part of the video is that most noticeable?

Just had a look and I can't see it.

You can do titles this way, google a totally black picture or use your own, add it to your project, lengthen the pic time s it's a few seconds and add your title. Viola! You have your own beginning/middle ending credits.

Edit: forgot to add that you must EXPORT the picture as a video FIRST before adding it to your project timeline

This is my biggest gripe with it. The whole idea of using iMovie on the iPhone is to be able to edit and share video on the go. But if you can't upload in 720p, then what's the point? I can understand on 3G, but via WIFI you absolutely should be able to upload in 720p.

I hope the jumpiness of video capture can be fixed with an update. It's freaking annoying. Otherwise, good vid.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Or is it just one member with bionic eyes who can see such phenomenon.
