Remove the app, and download again.

Will this work? If I delete it I will loose the project I spent a good 2 hours working on. That would piss me off quite a bit if I was forced to do a restart and it still didn't work. Anyone else able to export movies that are 5minutes long or more?

Can't you even export it to your camera roll?

If you could you could then remove the App and then import the movie straight back in.

That's what I'm saying, I can't export it at all. Everything worked fine until I try to export it to the roll. It gets a percentage of the way through, and the the app just crashes randomly!

Hmm I don't know what to suggest then!

I would hazard a guess at removing the app would remove your project.

Does iPhone 4 send 720p video when recorded and emailed from the factory or is iMovie required to export in 720p?

Yeah the iPhone 4 shoots 720p video. Doesn't matter if I use the iMovie app. I sync my iPhone to iPhoto on my computer. Go to YouTube and upload directly from iPhoto. No exporting needed.

Hope this helps everyone.

Not ideal, but this is a start I guess: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4174

That, and watch the WWDC keynote address, during the iMovie demo part.

FWIW, I like the iMovie app--if I want to do something more elaborate, the raw footage will still be there to import onto my Mac Pro at home.

I have little "wishes"--for one, it would be nice to have a search window to help finding a song that's on your iPhone. Scrolling via the alphabet is tedious.

Also, I wish you could add identifiers in camera mode when shooting a video--I had 8 different clips that I edited into my first iPhone 4 movie and it about drove me nuts remembering which one was which (they were all driving sequences in my 67 Corvette).

Removing the app does delete the project. I made a picture slideshow with music that is about a minute and a half, and it would not export. Deleted the app, made it again, and still can't export at any size. It does not even begin to export. Sits there with the export meter blank and eventually crashes, or the phone actually restarts on it's own.

Very frustrating, and I don't really know what to do about it.

Just a guess, but do you have sufficient free space on your iPhone? If yes, then I would call Apple Support.

It could also be your network connection--if I recall correctly, exporting (especially at 720p) took some time on mine and I'm running an Airport Extreme N base. Try something really small--very short video clip or one photo, no music--drop in a title and export the finished project to the camera roll.

Also, since you lost your original project anyway, you may try doing a total restore of the iPhone, reinstall the iMovie App and try again. It sounds like some form of software issue.

Things I'd like or have not figured out how to do:
1. Ability to multi-select photos.
2. Edit song length in audio track
3. Add additional audio tracks
4. Insert photo in middle of video selection where red line is.
5. Undo? If you edit picture size and move, you are stuck with it.

My video...not much editing, only two clips and some audio.
