I just imported some of my video recordings and they are all about 800MB-1GB, how do i compress these so i can send them out to some of my friends? Like make them a quicktime file?

Well in iMovie 5, you need to go to the file menu, and click SHARE, that will give you choices on what size to compress it to. It even gives choices like, full size, email, web, web streaming, homepage etc.

I meant to say that those options above are for Quick Time. If you have quicktime pro you will have even more options.

The option for SHARE is only for Quicktime Pro. Is there any other program i can use to compress these files?

Oh, I'm sorry 😱 , I only have ever had quicktime pro. I didn't know they were integrated like that. If you don't get a response here you could post in the digital video forum... you might get an answer in there. Good Luck.
