I really need to use the old iMovie HD version on my MBP, because now, all I have is the horrible iMovie 09.

I don't have the original iLife DVD for it, so I can't just install it from there, and any attempts to download and install the old version from apple support have been met with the following error.

I've looked at the other threads here on the same topic, but they were of no use.

So I don't know where to go from here. Please help, and thank you!

First of all, you need iMovie06 HD and not the update you have on the screenshot.

To install it, drag the existing folder of imovie out of program. Then install 06 as usual, rename the folder and drag the old folder back to program.

I guess you just can rename the folder with 08 and install 06 also...

EDIT: Apple doesn't supply iMove06 since a year back, the only way is to find a old iLife or download it from any other source.

connect your old mac to your new one and do migration assist. You only need to transfer applications. Worked for me!
