iMovie to FCP. Projects not transferring.

Hi all,
I'm trying to send some old iMovie projects from iMovie to FCP.
Following the steps built into iMovie however the issue I'm having is that the events (i.e. - all the footage) are transferring however the project itself is not.
Obviously I'd rather not start edits from scratch again...
My understanding was that the project should transfer across. Kind of stupid if it doesn't really.
Any suggestions?

Ah, got it, bit of an idiosyncrasy...
If you are in the editing/library view it only exports the media.
You have to be in the projects view (and select exactly the same option you do in editing/library view...) for it to export the media and the project.

No idea what "idiosyncrasy" or "exact same option" you're talking about when the menu clearly states - differently in each case - what it's going to send.

If you have the Event selected…

And if you have the Project/Movie selected…

So yeah… not sure how much more "syncratic" they could make it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

First is in editing (media) view, second is in projects view.
Same name yet they achieve different outcomes.
So, go figure...

Either you have an age-old or broken version, since otherwise you clearly do not have different areas selected. If you did, then the "Reveal in Project Media" command would also be active in one or the other, sorry. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Send projects to Final Cut Pro from iMovie on Mac

In iMovie on your Mac, send a movie project and its media files to Final Cut Pro, then open your project in Final Cut Pro to continue editing it.

Just fyi, I'm running FCP 10.7.1 under Ventura 13.5 on a Mac Studio M2 Max.
