I know that one of the earlier iMovies was a really good movie editor, back before it became a dumb-ed down clip assembler.

Which one was the good one? And does it still work on 10.7.4?

iMovie HD was the good one, and it works just fine in Lion and Mountain Lion. Apple doesn't have it available for download anymore, but I've hung on to my copy so PM me if you need one.

Turns out (FAQ) that new members cannot send PM's. Apparently you can PM or email me.

That's a link to the iMovieHD 6.0.3 update. You need to have iMovieHD version 6.0.2 to be able to install it.

My apologies! You're correct! The link that I had used to download iMovieHD has been disabled.
