iMovie09 keeps changing my clip lengths!

Very annoying this. For some reason my clip lengths keep changing in iMovie09. For example if I change the length of time a photo is on screen to 5 seconds, not only does iMovie set it to a different length than I specified e.g. 4.4 seconds but it also alters surrounding clip lengths e.g. clips set to 6 seconds suddenly cropped to 0.2 seconds. Is this a blatantly obvious amateur mistake and I have I got some auto setting ticked?

I too have noticed this happening. I was entering "2.0s" and "2s" and it ended up at ".05s" for some reason. Not too sure what's going on with it.

Yep...very strange....makes editing a nightmare. Not only is it not giving me the clip length I specify but also when I change one clip and get that right then another has changed length
