impending iphone 4 update?

I am looking to upgrade from 3g to 4. I know that Apple's program for a free bumper ended on sep 30, and that waive of the restock fee has halted that same day. So, was there a quiet update to iphone 4 on Oct 1? (To "fix" the issues such as antenna, sensor, etc.)
Or is it soon coming, and therefore I should not get the phone right this second? I can't find current chatter about this.

no there wasn't, and there won't be an upgrade until next june or july

I don't know why I didnt see that thread. It was just posted within a day or so ago! The poster about the FCC made perfect sense on why it's not going to happen.. So I'm getting one now : )
Now I'm excited haha.
