hi all.

apple care have been useless when i asked them this basic question so i'm turning to my trusty friend...the net.

other than imovie are there any other import programmes that will allow me to rip/import tapes from my dv camera direct to my external hard drive. sadly imovie does not let you specifiy where you save your movies (madness surely). so if anyone can reccomend a free prog. i would be most grateful.

cheers guys.

iMovie will let you save movies to any location, including external hard drives. (unless I'm misunderstanding you  )

Hi Nick,

Launch iMovie
Select Create New Project
The 'Save' dialogue box will open with Movies as the default location. Click the blue triangle to the right of the Project name. This will reveal the expanded dialog box. Your hard disk should be in the sidebar.

Hope this helps. Sorry if I misunderstand the problem ;)

Also, that is not what AppleCare is there for.
You don't buy a car, then go back to the garage to ask for directions. You go to the garage if your car is broken.
