Import new iTunes library in older version

I'm trying to import my iTunes 12.3 library (100GB) into my older iTunes 11.4 machine.

I get this error: 'the iTunes Libary.itl' file is not readable, because its made with a newer version.
How to fix this?

If you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder in your ~/Music/iTunes/ folder containing an old database from before you updated to iTunes 12.x, you can do the following:
