importing from Lion to new 27" iMac

Can I assume that using the initial prompt at startup to import data, applications and settings from an 11" Macbook Air will work without problems when we get the new iMac 27"? It is coming in a few days, just got a notice from Apple.
I have a clone of the 11" MacBook Air, and was planning on using that connected by USB. It is a USB 2 drive, a little slow maybe but it should work. Right?

I think you will be okay as long as you don't try to migrate the whole system over....lion won't play that nicely on the new iMacs..But if it's just Apps and files, you should be fine.
