Hi All. I have a whole lot of small mpeg files from a sony cybershot camera. Not high quality or anything, but they are clips that I want to keep.

I am unable to import them into iMovie.

is this a problem with the format? I thought iMovie could import mpeg? do I have to convert them somehow?

please help.

Yes. It doesn't. Yes.

Read the thread that SilentPanda referenced. It covers this exact thing quite well.

EDIT: I thought that would be a different thread actually, but MPEG Streamclip and Apple's MPEG 2 playback component are what you need. If you don't need sound in your movies then you can export using Quicktime Pro.
