Importing video from a Sony DCR-DVD805-help needed

A camcorder is a camera.
If reckon correctly from the name of the model, the video gets recorded on a DVD, but most likely the small ones, which are not meant for slot loading drives unless you use an adapter.
It would be easier to import the video from the DVD (with the appropriate physical adapter for slot loading DVD drives or an external tray loading DVD drive).
Btw., what connection do you use between the camera and the computer?
(USB or Firewire)
