What's the difference between 'importing' a file and 'addding a file' to itunes library?
I have a shared file folder where I transfer files to itunes library, I've been using 'import', I noticed one file I erased from the shared folder was no longer readable in the library, ( I thought itunes would've made a duplicate copy when imported, and not read the original source).

I'm not sure what the difference between importing ad adding is. I think they are the same.

iTunes will only make a copy if that option is selected in the preferences (under the "advanced" settings)

add to library will let you add multiple files, while import will only allow you to add one at a time, at least from my experience.
