Are you looking for (btw for me this is very easy takes a few seconds):

Center Color Only Arrow (without glow)
Center Color change + Glow Color Change
Glow Color change only (leave center white)

I have to run to the store for more caffine but I'll do a color selection of various different styles when I get back.

Really love the glow arrows, they're fantastic (hah and i can't help but think of tron, sorry!). I'd like the throw my 2cents in and request color variations on just the glow, leaving the arrow itself white.

Also, i tried to get the nonreflective version but it appears to be the same zip, anyone else experiencing this?

thanks for the tweaks, kkat69. If i can get around to installing cs3 (haven't since my clean install of leopard) maybe i can make a little bit smaller version if anyone's interested.

HAHAHA Sorry couldn't resist mate. I've checked the zip file and the ones inside are not the reflective versions, damn copy and paste, I didn't change the zip file name. So here are the 2 versions I have. I wanted to get this out before I worked on some newer colors. I'll post new colors shortly and edit this post.

Reflective White (light blue glow)

Non-Reflective White (light blue glow)

Ok I did a few colors. I have to go back to painting (wife wants me to finish my 'other' project LOL) so here's some links and an image:

I put a link to an HTML file in my sig. So if anyone looses the links, just search on my avatar and you'll find the page. TY

Right now I wanted to at least get some glowy ones out. I actually like the 3d dock so I wanted to capitalize on it. I like how the indicators kinda look like they are "lit" up. Plus if you really think about the 3d dock, the arrows should appear as if they are sitting flat on the dock. That's why they look like they do, plus the reflection underneath is really just a psuedo reflection of the psuedo light the indicator is emitting.

HOWEVER!!!! I know a lot of people don't care that much for it. I will be working on some more custom indicators. Solid colors, maybe even shapes, etc. I think even making some for the 2d dock as well.

Again, I put the link to my Dock Indicators page. I'll post in this thread any updates I do.

More dock icons to come this week... I'm sure I'll be bored enough at work to break open some files and create more custom dock icons.

As part of my dock noodling, I generated a bunch of versions of the dock images in both black and white, with the s-curve and without, from matte to 100% reflectivity in 5% increments. I've also got the appropriate black or white frontline and separator images and some light & dark arrows. This is a good resource if you want to dial in the reflectivity of your dock. If anyone's interested, you can grab a zip of all of this here.

The 0% reflective white scurve pngs are a great place to start if you want to make a dock set with a color of your choosing.

bah!

I saw the multicolored/rainbow version and hit my head: "Mario Kart Rainbow Road!". Suddenly had a flashback to using the super Nintendo in my youth. Once I get my new MBP, I'm sure to use these hacks up! :p

ROFL Mario, man talk about the possibilities of theming.

Anyhoot. I made a few other things tonight. Accessible from the link in my sig, check them out. Apple Indicators and an Apple Seperator.

The Apple Indicators only contain the Large and Medium ones. Sorry at "small" the Apple logo wasn't very legible so I didn't include it (some things ya just gotta let go LOL).

The reflection from the Apple Seperator IS manually created and is not created by the dock so to remove it involves some editing of the png file. Just FYI in case someone asks. It actually looks like the Apple logo is sitting in between your folders. Hmmmmmm half nekkid chick anyone? HAHA j/k the file is to small for any detail to show through anyway.

Enjoy!!!

Yes that's very nice!! do you have some coding skills?? if yes, you should make a app like cleardock, but for leopard and bigger, if you don't, let someone who can work with you, that you do the UI elements and he/she codes.

I just caught this. I do have coding skills but only on the MS side. I'm a C# programmer and Web programmer. This iMac is my first official entrance into the Mac world so I don't have any Mac programming experience.

The beauty of PNG's is that they can be program friendly in that as long as you have a basic shape, etc you can programatically change certain aspects of it.

But alas, I love my graphics experience to much. I would most certainly be open to working with someone but I can't do any Mac coding.

Added another Arrow set (yes they're still glowy). Once I get my wife's macbook I'll probably do some custom work for hers. I did see a post above that had some awsome dock AND arrows for white macbooks. Rather than duplicate work already done I'll probably use it (and credit original person of course) but also might do some more custom work anyway.

Here's the newer arrows:

Again... all my work is accessible via link in sig. Enjoy!!

Sorry for the question

I just can't find it by searching the forums. Can anyone direct me to the black mesh looking background a user made? thanks

I can't seem to find the original Dock files for the default settings. So the scurve files. I would really appreciate if somone could post them.

Thanks,

snverhallen

Not quite. Sure what you meant by that (up.

Just wondering if someone could post the original scurve files (4).

very very nice, !!

Space dock with old apple logo indicators:

I think I'll make it lighter so the reflections will show a little more.
I also have a granite/slate one I like. I'll try to post it tomorrow.

that's uber sweet...can you link those indicators...my g/f really wants em and i dont want to go into the trouble of making them myself...

thanx :D

2 questions

Is there a way to restart the dock, without restarting the computer,

&

Can you post the glowing apple logos

GOTO terminal and press Killall Dock or in activity monitor press dock and stop.

Havent done any mods in a few days, but have to say some cool stuff in this thread since last I was here.

The indicators kkat69 did are way nice. I like the apple separator alot.

The neon lights brbubba did are slick.

Im personally like the simple 2D dock better, but might be combining the neon with some of the glowing indicators with the apple separator to see what it looks like.

Well I tried (thought) this was gonna be easy but the logo's don't come through well. Gonna need some play time to figure out the best combo. Also not happy with the seperator bar but take a preview look:

The team logo is way to small (using the medium indicator on my screen) and the yardage marker didn't come out well either.

Back to the drawing board.
