I record music covers but the audio is really bad from the built in microphone on my Black Macbook. How can I improve the quality?

How about "Don't record music with webcam mics"?

    Well...

I don't have anything else to record with so until I can get something, is there anything I could do to get better quality?

This mic was never meant to be used for this purpose ...

Buy an external microphone. Even the cheaper USB ones will be better than the built-in one.

No there isn't. Why would Apple have it preform worse than it could? What logic is there in that if Apple could simply make a microphone preform better?

Just go buy a microphone. They're cheap. A great one can be had for $100-300.
