I'm in doubt whether to get MobileMe or not.

My main reason not to get it is ... I don't really need it.
But then again, that's the case for nearly all things Apple.

The main reason I do want to get it is the way it integrates everything seamlessly ... or so I've heard.

What features make you love/hate MobileMe?
Please push me over the edge ..

Do you have an iPhone or an iPod touch? If so, the push email and apps is really the main feature. And if you don't, then I would recommend not getting it, because those are the only devices where its capabilities *should* be able to be seen (push isn't as immediate as it should be). And in means of calendar and contacts updating, I don't think that you will really need a "push" updater if you are not using a mobile device. And when it comes to mail on your Mac, you could just set Mail to update every minute, and you should be pretty much all set.

My arguments not to get MobileMe.

Sync My iPhone is always docked at home, so my contacts/calendars/... are always synced. My iPhone and MacBook Pro are never separated for more than a day, so synchronizing is not really important to me.

E-mail I now use a Gmail address which I'm perfectly happy with (IMAP). If the @Mac domain were still available, I probably would've gotten MobileMe right away, but I really dislike the Me.com domain name. (shallow, I know)

iDisk I already have a Premium Rapidshare account for €55/year which has a lot more storage than the iDisk. I use Speed Download for managing my up and downloads and that works seamlessly with Rapidshare.
Downside: other people I share files with have to have an RS account as well, otherwise they are limited. (not really my problem though)

Back to my Mac I heard it doesn't really work as advertised, so I guess this feature isn't worth it?

Photo sharing Facebook integrating with the new iLife '09 suite is another thing that convinced me not to get MobileMe. All my friends are on Facebook, so if I wanted to share an album, Facebook would be the way to go. (Heck, it even supports face tagging unlike MobileMe, right?)

Alright ... please counter these arguments - if you can - and try to convince me to get MobileMe.

For now, unless MobileMe is going to be sporting some cool new features in the future, I won't be subscribing.

To be honest, you basically just proved that you are all set without having it. From what you've said, you really don't need it (which is perfectly fine). And I completely agree with you with the @me.com thing, I'm not a fan of that either, I think it could have been a better domain with @mobileme.com or something, but @me.com just seems strange.

So I think that you should be fine without it.

Yeah does not seem like you need it at all.

I for one use mobile me, but I like being able to use my mac calendar and have the changes sync right away as opposed to syncing via cable. Push email is pretty cool as well. Otherwise, not worth it. That is why looking for mobileme on ebay or amazon is worth it. For my needs, its not worth $99 but for $55 damn right it is.
