Whoop! Sorry for double whooping... I am luck enough to live on a border town because my Walmart in Canada isn't 24 hours so I went across the border and picked on up.
Although CBSA tried to get us to pay duty, luckily I'm exempt because that would have kinda sucked.
Also upstate NY had boxes of them, everything except the 32 gb 4G version. And they only carried AT&T.

Could have checked it out at Walmart after all, but I thought I would be asleep by now (1 AM EST). However, work got in the way. Oh, well, will wait for delivery tomorrow and hopefully be shutting down soon.
Non-24 hour Walmarts is a foreign concept to me. Here in Joplin they've been 24 hours for like 20 years. Even in smaller communities within 100 miles of here! I digress....
Went I today and they had plenty of cases for the "New iPad 2!". Clearly old at that and none I would even buy for an iPad 2. How was the stock of new cases?

Mine only had 10, all 16 gb white wifi.
I bought it since that was one of the ones I was considering and I waited hours, but I'm thinking about selling it (I dont think people are going to pay any large premiums this time but maybe a bit extra) and getting a 32gb later. If there are no takers Ill just keep it.

Damn this is making me wish I hadn't preordered. My Walmart is good with midnight launches and i'm sure i would've been able to get one. Nobody shows up for anything at midnight over here.

Same here. And I don't live in a small town, either. There was only one other person and myself at my local one here in Florida.
Little did I ever expect to buy an Apple product from WalMart. Just returned home with a new iPad, still a bit surprised there was little activity.
They had more iPads than buyers. Clerk mentioned they got 50, I walked in at 12:15 and was only the second sale they'd made.
Glad we can move on to the next iPhone now, that's the one I'm looking forward too

Only 5 at my local Walmart. I was 2nd in line. 10 minutes before midnight, they announced they only have the 16GB white iPads only. I was hoping for black but picked it up anyway. I am contemplating to return it and wait for a black model.

i went to my local walmart at 7 (when they open) and they said they didn't have any. quickly drove to target 20 min away. 3 people on line, employee handed out cards with the iPad you wanted on it. at 8 they walked us to electronics, simple easy checkout. got out at 8:10. loving target right now.
Don't forget to pick up a pack of tube socks, a bottle of shampoo and a bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos while you're there.
Gross. I'll wait a few days and pick up my iTubeSocks, iShampoo and iCheetos at the Apple store along with my iPad.
