Everything is noticeably more fluid on the air 2 and it doesn't reboot! It all hugely adds to the overall experience, it's now truly very close to being perfect.

I do have a pressure spot on there that Is quite sensitive and it is slightly irritating plus the battery life does appear to be worse than the previous version too but on the balance of things Im very pleased with it.

On another note I'm surprised by how limited the fingerprint functionality is and the auto fill password in apps isn't utilised at all. It would have made a world of difference if it all worked through Touch ID. Atm I can only see the unlock and and App Store working with it (though also not fully enabled as sometimes it still asked for the pass code). And lastly would have loved the base air to begin from 32GB storage.

The vibrations and screen resonating are deal killers for me. I don't use headphones and while typing/using the screen with music playing even on low volume levels caused the screen itself to resonate. This happened on the sample unit at best buy and within about five minutes I had enough of it. Extremely annoying. Drove me crazy and made my fingers tingle. Effing thin nonsense. Ugh.

Was my sample unit "bad"? Maybe so....but shortly thereafter I found the screen vibrations thread here and saw how rampant the problem was. Sure, headphone users don't care. Good for them.. That's not me though. Maybe from device to device the issue isn't as bad or pronounced. Fine, but why chance it? I hate the exchange game with electronics and the other two ipads I bought were great right out of the box the first time.

Hey, whatever. My Air has been a beast anyways and even though I was actually ready to upgrade I'm not feeling as if I Missed out on much. The next gen ipad will be here fairly soon and we'll see what they do.

I understand that some aren't bothered by the resonating but others are so be cool about it. The Air 2 is simply too thin.

Have to agree with donnaw. Every single device that comes along there's a thread exactly like this, and every time I shake my head thinking, this does not echo my experience. I'm not blind to faults - I returned two iPad 2s due to backlight bleed, one iPad 3 due to excessive heat (all were replaced no argument) - but the degree to which they're overblown is hilarious. The screen on my Air 2 is far away and away the most uniform iPad I've had. As for sound vibration, YMMV clearly on this. Listening to podcasts only as I do, I no longer notice. Likely more of an issue with music I guess. Otherwise, my Air 2 is a much more pleasant experience than my (still decent) rMini. That 2gb ram makes such a difference to the experience it's untrue, in terms of tab/app refreshes and stability.

Finest example of "overblown" was antenna gate. I used that iPhone 4 for two years on O2 here in the uk. The signal was rarely great (O2 related), yet never was it down to the way I held my phone.

I also have no problems with my iPad Air 2. The screen is evenly lit and generally gorgeous, the battery life is as claimed, and I have no screen distortion when holding it (one hand or two).

The device does vibrate when the volume is higher and/or there is bass. It's just like a regular speaker and the price for loudness and fullness. I do wish it had the speakers differently positioned, and putting them together at the bottom in portrait mode strikes me as bad design.

I don't feel strongly about the thinness either way. The iPad 2 was fine with me, too.

I actually returned my Air 2 because of the sound vibration issue, which results from how thin the device is. The Air 2 didn't need to be as thin as it is. The battery also lasts less time than the original Air which isn't surprising to me either.

It's all good though, got myself a Mini 2 now :)

Yep. No big deal. Many of just stayed with what we had, bought another type of ipad or will just wait for the next generation.

My Air 2 is great. I don't mind the vibrations and my screen is great so that makes the Air 2 perfect for me. :)

I'm a Space Grey (black bezel) fan but when I arrived at the store the only 128GB Cellular + WiFi model in stock was Gold. I wanted the tablet so bad that I purchased it, didn't care about the color.

My previous iPad was a 32GB Cellular + WiFi Air.

The vibration isn't occurring because of how thin it is; it's occurring because the new speakers put out a much fuller sound (more bass). Sound is caused by the movement of air. You are going to feel that. We use our iPads literally every day for video chat. The Air 2 is much, much clearer than any previous iPad because of the better speakers.

To each their own I guess. It doesn't bother you, and that's great. But the moment I tried to watch a YouTube video and had the volume above 1/4 the vibration drove me insane.

Thinness is not really welcome. Lighter is.

Air 1 feels more solid now with thicker chassis. I dont see issue with screen distortion spot at all with Air 1. The vibration is still there though but lesser.

I agree, a certain solidity comes from a bit more substantial a chassis. Air one size is perfect, lightness should be achieved other ways. Air two is too thin!M

Yup, same here. I don't care whether the sound vibration was intentional or not during the design. I personally don't like it and I have too many iPad's as it is. I'll wait to see what the Air 3 is like.

I really really hope Apple won't make the new IPad Air 3 any more thinner because the Air 2 is already thin enough and because of it it has bad screen issues (distortion) and a vibrating speaker and it can easily bend as well which it is terrible!!!

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE THINNESS APPLE!!!!

Pressure distortion doesn't happen on every iPad Air 2.
Yep. My first iPad Air 2 didn't really have any distortion issues. I returned it because there was a spec of dust or something under the screen. My replacement had pretty bad distortion. If I held the lower half of the iPad with my right hand, it showed up a little. If I put any pressure on the screen with my left hand, it was very obvious. Luckily I hold my iPad with my left hand and use it with my right, so the issue didn't really affect me.

Since AT&T has a promo right now for a $99 cellular iPad Air 2 when you add a line, I got one when my sister joined my parents' plan and I have to put significant pressure on the back of the iPad for any distortion to show up, and it's only in one spot. It never happens in regular use. I have to intentionally make it show up.

After holding the Air 2, I think Air 1 is the perfect tablet in regards of feel and build quality. Although the unlaminated display with hollow feeling may give off some cheap feeling.
The hollow feeling turned me off to the original Air. I really liked it and wanted to upgrade my third gen iPad, but I didn't want something that felt kind of cheap. The Air 2 is slightly lighter, but I'm assuming that it being even thinner causes it to feel much better and not hollow at all.

The speaker vibrations were the only thing that really bothered me about the iPad Air 2. When I first got it, I seriously contemplated returning it because it made my hands tingle after a while of listening to music. I must have gotten used to it, because it doesn't bother me nearly as bad anymore. I can obviously still feel it, but I wouldn't trade the iPad Air 2 for any other iPad.

So having a iPad that vibrate at 50% or higher is "perfect". oKay...........

Let's wait for Air 3. Rumor has it that there will be 4 speakers this time. Apple gotta reinforce the casing design to avoid vibration.
