I am an ATT customer and don’t have time to go stand in line. Therefore, I was wondering at what time would I be able to check either ATT or Apple online to see if the pick up instore is available?

You probably can head to any store tomorrow morning and pick one up if you are early. I literally just came back from my local Verizon store. They told me they are holding it for no one. They have plenty of stock ready to go tomorrow. She said they have a lot of silvers and if I want the silver and I come early tomorrow (like when they open at 8am), I should walk out with one.

Obviously, this is not a guarantee but I'm feeling good about my odds. I may download an episode of Stranger Things and go around 7am just to be sure.

In store reservations are not available @ US Apple Store -- don't know where you are though. Apple turned that off for the launch. As for the ATT stores you could always call later today after they have received inventory and see if going after the early launch hours is worthwhile.

What city? 7am seems a little late for a city like Miami.(where I live)

For the 3G and 3GS I remember showing up at AT&T the night before launch like 10pm and there were already 5 people in line while people were parked in the lot waiting for the line to ripen. Also, people were driving past the store very frequently gauging when to get in line.

Not sure if att will have stock. I work in a att core store, and we were told by our area manager that no 3rd party locations from Apple would have stock. Not sure how accurate it is though. I will tell you we usually open an hour earlier for iPhone launch, and we are not opening any different from our regular hours.

I live in Allentown, PA. The 3rd largest city in Pennsylvania. Last year I picked up an iPhone 7 at the mall around lunch time the day after release day haha. I'm not too worried.

For Verizon you can place orders online at 3AM EST for store pickup and have it reserved.

Obviously, no one will know stock levels until tomorrow.

No stores will likely have the iPhone Ten for sale on launch day (at least not extra laying around). Can't compare the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 10 because the iPhone 7 was the same as the iPhone 6. This is a new phone with high demand. I don't think any store will have any available, as every store will have an overnight line.

Trust me. You don't know this area. It's pretty bumblef*ck. I will be stunned if people in this area line up overnight for something that is $1,000.

Very different phone. This launch will not be comparable at all.

Well then the store reps must be lying through their teeth because I've heard otherwise. I'm not sure this phone is even as back-ordered as the Piano Black iPhone 7/+ were.

There are a whopping three people lined up at the Apple Store near my office (NYC).

People always sleep on carrier stores.

I wonder is it better to look for an iPhone at malls...

I've read that malls don't let customers in early compared to standalone stores. Anyone ever experienced success at malls compared to standalone stores?

In depends on the malls and their excellent mall cops. For example the mall in Plano, TX allows you to line up. However the mall cops at the North Park Mall in Dallas, TX don't allow you on the property until 6am.

Interesting.

I'm in the DFW area, but I'm near the Apple Stores in the Fort Worth area. I was thinking of going to Apple Store malls in Dallas, but didn't know which one I'd have success at.

The North Park Mall might be my best bet.

Just got to the Verizon store. 30 minutes prior to opening. Only four people here. Now 6. No one was here overnight.

But do they have any stock?

They had plenty for all of us. For security reasons they couldn’t tell us how many they had. They just could tell us they didn’t have any 256GB Space Grey. When the store opened there was probably about 10-12 people total and I didn’t hear them say they were out.

I was 6th in line and I was fine. Probably because I wanted the 64GB silver which is probably the least wanted variation of the X.
