iPhone 11 Pro In store pick up

This is my first time having a pre-order for in store pick up, so just wondering when I should arrive.
My pick up slot is the first one, 8am-8:30am, so I'm hoping that if I get to the store by 7:20/7:30am I should be close to the front of the pick up line? Could get there earlier if necessary. Any advice from those that have done pick up before?
Need to get to work right after so hoping to be in and out pretty fast!

I have done the pickup the last few years and its seamless. Show up at store a few minutes or right at start of slot. Apple employees arrange people according to their slot. when time comes they call you/come get you one by one and put you with another Apple retail employee. send for your phone in the back and wallah, out in about 5-10 minutes (Assuming you don't need personal set up or other assistance). easy for sure and much better than waiting until my local UPS guy gets to my neighborhood around 3-5 PM.

Do you know what happens if I show up after my time slot? I have 8-8:30 but am starting to think I won’t be able to get there until 8:45-9:00
 
Yeah, the post above is pretty much it. Don't show up that early unless someone is giving you a ride and that's the most convenient time for them to drop you off, lol. You're probably excited but sleep in a little and show up only a few minutes early. If you're dying to be the first one to get one go ahead and show up super early, but they only allow as many people as they can handle in a given time slot so if you're the first person or last person in line for the 8:00 AM spot you're talking only a few minutes difference, at most.

You should be fine, they'll just place you in that line. Last year, I choose the 3:30 to 4 pm slot and evidently around that time, the server was down so I had to come back an hour later. Had no issue picking up my device after my time had passed.

I'm pretty sure as long as you claim it before EoB Friday it's yours. I haven't ever shown up late but I can't see them releasing your phone to stock for at least a full day.

I’m sure I read previously on Apple’s website that if you do not collect on the day of your reservation that the iPhone will return to available stock at the end of the business day.
