In store pickup and delivery questions.

Im just about to pull the trigger on a 13" TB with a 1Tb SSD however I have a couple of questions regarding delivery and in store pickup.

I work offshore and never know if when I am going to be at home or away. So I planned to get it delivered to my home, I guess my wife would be able to sign for it instead of me?

If I selected in store pickup, how long would apple keep it? Would it only be a week or so?
