I just read in a thread that reserving your phone online does not guarantee it? What is the point then?
So when you get to the store, it speeds up your checkout time because they already have all your info on hand by the time you get in line.
I did a preorder and wanted to cancel it. I called the Apple Store and requested to cancel. They said "don't worry...just don't show up and it's fine" and I asked why but they said "it's just to speed the process up". I further asked if they have reserved ones and they said no. I know AT&T said they would if I came in tomorrow (perhaps, it starts tomorrow) and paid for it all then I would have a priority in getting an iPhone.
The point is that there are a lot of steps to buying an iPhone, and most of then can be done online -- before you walk into an Apple Store.I just read in a thread that reserving your phone online does not guarantee it? What is the point then?
I did the in-store reservation on this a few hours ago and just received my email confirmation. The funny thing is, it says:
"Thanks for reserving your iPhone. You can come to the store you selected anytime on the day of your reservation. When you arrive, talk to a Concierge in an orange shirt. We'll help you complete your purchase, set up your phone, and get off to a great start."
However, the "Date" it lists is blank. Did anyone else run into this? I don't remember seeing an option to pick a date when going through the reserve process.
The manager at my local Apple Store has my name, my phone reseveration and told me that I can pick up my phone at any time at his store, due to the fact that I pre-ordered. So to me, that is a guarantee.
