I just noticed that the iPhone 4 doesn't include an AC adapter anymore... did the 3GS nix that as well (I have a 3G) or was that an old omission? Plus, no microfiber cloth anymore either, or SIM tool....

The 3GS comes with an AC adapter. Apple's site does mention the iPhone 4 comes with USB AC adapter.

Its a slow slide down to taking the AC adapter out as well. They used to give us a dock with the original iPhone.

They do this will all their new products. Early adopters get a few extras and they take them out in rev 2 or 3. Do you not remember iPods? Those came with a dock and a wall charger. Macbooks? Those came with a remote and some extra adapters. This just happens. And no Apple will not take out the wall charger from iPhones. They're not going to sell a phone that doesn't have a charger like all other phones.

If you think taking a paper clip and a piece of fabric out is the same as removing a $29 charger, you're delusional.

Of course, to be fair, they also originally charged 599 for the first iPhone. They can keep the dock!:D

If you think it's not a possibility that Apple would take out the charger, you're delusional. You said yourself that apple used to include it with iPods, no reason they couldn't just call the dock connector the only thing you need to charge the iPhone.

There's a huge difference between phones and iPods.

In the box:

-iPhone 4.

-Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic.

-Dock Connector to USB Cable.

-Documentation.

They still do, AT&T just covers part of the cost, which is why the whole upgrade eligibility date is coming in to question for a lot of people. AT&T wants to make sure they have made their money back for the portion of your phone they paid for.

For those who are not eligible for an early upgrade or who wish to buy iPhone as a gift, the prices are $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).
