I used a few hard cases over the years, and as I used them, the slight flexing and minor dirt accumulation between the case and phone metal ended up leaving visible abrasions on the phone corners. On the coated colors of iPhone like Space Grey, this was especially obvious.

Do you still find this to be the case with more recent iPhones, say 12 onward? There’s some lovely snap-on thin cases like Totallee or Peel, but I fear the plastic and dirt and hard materials flexing against the metal. And I like switching cases often so I’d hate to scratch the phone edges with the snap-on and off.

I had the Apple clear case on my 12 pro for 2 years. There were absolutely no scratches on my phone anywhere. I took it off maybe 5 times over the 2 years to change screen protectors or clean the phone. Zero scratches after 2 years on the metal frame.

Yes.

Buy only cases with microfiber on the inside (like Apple cases have but not many 3rd party cases) and you will have a flawless iPhone even after several years.

When I ran the apple clear case on my old 12 pro, it did mark the metal band - Nothing major but it definitely marked it
