For those who care to know, I do have a new Incase slider (white). I got it as a replacement directly from Incase as the first one I had was almost impossible to get off.

I no longer have the box from my original one so I cannot compare the product numbers etc., but I will post what I have from the new box.

UPC code is CL59056
Bar code is 5045090567

Other than that, and from what I remember from my first box, they look identical. I just know that with the new one, it slides on and off my white iphone easily and I have no problems with it at all.

Thanks for posting up the new information pertaining to a "revised" version of the white slider. I just went to a new Apple store which opened up recently in my area. What I noticed is the huge stock they have of the Incase Sliders both black and white (no Gun Metal to be found).

The UPC Code is listed as - CL59056FR

Now I don't have my original box with me, as I returned my item a week ago. But is the "FR" the indicator that its the revised version?

I also noticed the packaging is a bit different. The white cardboard inside which holds the case, has a little flap hanging from the top, it looks as if its been tried on before in the store. Also the bottom part of the case is not fully attached to the top part. I'm pretty sure the new flap hanging from the top is not an indication that its been tried on before because I also checked the stack and the row behind it, and they are all packaged in this new way with the flap hanging down. But the row of white sliders all the way at the top are packaged in the same previous way. But also has the UPC Code of CL59056FR...

I spoke to a couple sales guys and they are not aware of this problem, but did mention they tried the case on a customers and it slid in and out no problem. One sales guy was attempting to slide it on, but he had a Bodyguards on it.

Anyways I'll probably pick one up in a couple days, and see for myself if it really is the revised version.

Note - this is the Apple store @ Fairview Mall.

Very interesting. I'm looking at the bottom of my box now, just says UPC CL59056

UPC 10-digit: 50450 90567

I'll get a picture of it up in a few minutes. Sounds like they are perhaps tagging the new ones differently. Thanks for the info!

My replacement from Incase is on the way too (I think), so I'll be able to confirm then too.

Great thread, thanks everybody.

Here are the pics. I tried to see if I had any 'flap' you were talking about, but the closest thing I could find was the tab that closes back into the white cardboard piece that holds the fake iPhone. You can kind of see what I mean, but I don't think it's what you're talking about.

Second picture shows the bottom of the box. Different than the one you saw in store, it sounds like...

I am getting a new one (spoke with Linda) and it should be the revised version. If it helps I'll post any numbers if they matter. I am also selling it so....just a replacement and now I'm on to Switcheasy.

;)

i spoke with Linda also, she is extremely nice and funny. Mine is on its way!

In the 1st pic, if you hadn't opened it yet, I could have told you if I saw the same type of packaging as I saw in the store today ;)

Yea the UPC in yours doesn't have FR. But I just had a thought, FR could mean "French" as well since I'm from Canada, and our packaging in almost everything have both english and french written on the packaging. I just can't remember if the FR was also in the 1st slider I bought..

I guess if I am able to drop by and pick one up this week, I'll take pics of it and see if it is the revised version.

The End Of The Erase Works To Remove The Case!!thanks : )

Man You Dont Know How Much You Helped Me. I Went Ahead And Created An Account In The Forum Just To Thank "theburgo". Try The End Of The Eraser To Remove The Tight Case.

I had the same problem and googled it. This is the first result. After reading a few of the responses...I tried the pencil eraser on the headphone jack. Worked like a charm :)

i also bought the white incase slider.

it was VERY hard to get off, however i usually hold and wiggle and it comes free. the first time though.. it was deffinatly in there good.

it DOES make the iPhone look very bulky - and i dropped it from my pocket (while sitting) onto a wooden floor and the case has a nice crack on the slider part.

what sucks is this case was almost as expensive as the incase for my macbook - and it broke inside of a week. i don't recommend the incase for the iPhone 2G.

If you're looking for an alternative, get the Agent 18 case. Very easy to get off and it's made of recycled plastic.

i got the same problem just 2 weeks back. mine was a Uncommon Capsule Case. Anyway, didnt dare to put the iphone in a fridge, drip oil to lubricate or use hairdryer to try to expand the slider case, though i've tried everything else. however, i manage to get a pen to push the iphone out slightly from the earphone hole on top of the case. then the rest had to rely on a chopstick stunt.

this is how i got my phone out http://dontworryaboutdit.blogspot.com/2010/07/how-to-remove-iphone-cover.html

I had both the Incase Slider (metallic) and Uncommon Capsule cases for my 3GS and both were hard to get off of the phone. I noticed that the longer the phone was left in the cases, the harder it was to get out. So, I would try to take it out once a week or so and give both the case and the phone a good wipe down which seemed to help. Also, it was easier to get the phone out when it was cooled down to room temp. I never tried anything aside from sheer force in removing the phone. Sometimes it took a while but the case would eventually slide off.

same problem

so it seems that 2 years after you guys all had these problems i bought the exact same case and couldnt get it off my ipod touch! i took the advice of the some of the posters and called consumer support, and they were not very helpful - he told me to file a return claim on the site and they'd send me one. i assume it will be for free? anyway i wanted to bring up the fact that there was still this problem 2 years later (as in maybe they should call up the Apple store I bought it from to tell them to remove it from the shelves) and he kept saying "oh its not very common" and that it was probably just my case, which is clearly not true as everyone else in this forum had the same problem! anyway i am pretty not impressed with their consumer support - it seems that they were more helpful at the peak of this problem and that perhaps the newer employees are not aware that this problem ever existed.
