Which smart cover better fits the look/texture of the smart feather... leather or polyurethane?

I have a leather Smart Cover. I like it, but to be honest the leather looks more like ultra suede than leather I am used to. Just got my Smart Feather and it is a great match. I really like this combination.

Just got my smart feather case in black to match my smart cover. I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

Got mine this past weekend. Fits like a glove and keeps things simple... now where to keep my stylus...???

FYI - If you have a Fry's electronics in your area they have this in stock now. I just picked up a Black feather yesterday. My Fry's also had Pink in stock.

These are the branded for the 3rd Generation iPad so they are indeed the latest and greatest. $34.99 is the price.

Got mine yesterday. Everyone has their quirks. After having a naked ipad for a week and then a ipad with just the smart cover for a few days, I definitely wanted a back with the smart cover locked in. I can see why others don't want that but I definitely do.

I know there's a Zum coming out. There's not a ton of info on that case outside of this forum. Sometime down the line, I might try that, but this case was getting no complaints and I was tired of being overly careful laying my ipad down.

My impressions so far:

1) it doesn't seem to add noticeable bulk to the iPad. I've never been a person to care that much about bulk, but I've started to change my thinking on that as I lug my 2008 macbook pro from meeting to meeting. I use this to read a lot, and I wanted to preserve the weight and I like it.

2) The issue with it not covering the whole top and bottom is not killing me right now. I like that I don't have to worry about port access. I have noticed that I am being a bit more careful than I'd like about how I lay it down. Intellectually, I know that the exposed part is not touching the surface unless it lands at an akward angle. I'm just getting used to it.

3) Different colors are fun but I like watching movies and TV and I'm really picky about visuals. I don't know if I want to watch a 1080p movie with a lime or orange colored frame around it. In theory, it seems like it might be distracting. So I am digging my all black iPad (with peeks of aluminum ipad silver).

4) the back surface is sleek and professional. I wish it were a tad more "grippable." It's definitely more gribbable than the naked iPad but, again, everyone's mileage varies. I suspect the more "grippable" backs also feel a bit heavier. So I think they've accomplished the happy medium here.

5) Seems like I'm okay with no magnet in the back. Not sure I miss the smart cover staying open when folded all the way over. If I I'm using it that way, 90 percent of the time my hand or a surface is already holding it in place.

6) Oh and yeah, it locks the smart cover in place. Already making the user experience better for me.
Overall, it's a good purchase and I'm glad I didn't wait much longer.

A magnet on the back would be great for my uses. I could then hold it like a naked iPad and use a stylus with my right hand.

It's not as protective as other cases if you drop the iPad, but Feather + Cover is a good compromise.

I am thinking of getting the Twelve South Compass stand as it would give me more angles to prop up the iPad for reading, viewing videos, etc.

Thanks for the tip! Found one at my local Fry's tonight. The pink looks great with my smart cover. :)

I ordered the Irridescent Grey Smart Feather for my iPad3 direct from Incipio Monday afternoon and it arrived just after midday on Wednesday...not bad when you consider it came from California and I'm on the south coast of the UK!

The feather is excellent and I'm teaming it with a Dark Grey Apple smart cover and then slipping the whole lot into a Crumpler Giordano Special iPad slipcase...perfect :D

Did you pay for it to be Fed Ex'd to you? This option is $14.99 but is well worth it. I got emailed with full tracking details including it arriving at Stansted airport here in the UK and it clearing customs two hours later. Four hours after that it was delivered to my house

I ordered a smart cover from the Apple site and even though it's in stock it is going to take five days to get to me not including a weekend in the middle

Top service from Incipio I think :D

Translucent Mercury - Best Color

I just received my Translucent Mercury Incipio Smart Feather and thought I would share some photos. I currently have a Translucent Mercury Feather on my white iPhone 4S and love the way it looks/feels. So I've been waiting for Incipio to release this color for the iPad. I ordered it yesterday and received it today!

It is made of soft touch plastic that adds minimal thickness to the iPad. As you will see from the photos it has a nice smoked grey color. This color matches well with the dark grey smart cover, offers a nice contrast to the white iPad surround and my favorite part, it blends in with the aluminum back.

If you're on the fence, this is a great addition to your (new) iPad.

Nice color . . . too bad I couldn't wait. I got Frost, Frost probably more translucent than Mercury, but the Frost would show more dirt than the Mercury. I have Frost with dark grey Smart Cover.

What color? Black or Matt Mercury?

I believe I've decided on the Incipio cover for my new iPad, but debating on what color for it. Also want to get a new case for my iPhone4S, figured I'd get the same color as well. I have a black leather smart cover and black iPad&iPhone...but can't decide if I should keep it black or do the matte mercury color as above which makes it look like same color of aluminum.

Anyone with a black smart cover wanna help me out? :D
