Hello All,
I have a CD that accompanies a textbook which gives insightful diagrams and pictures. The problem is that some of the .mov files do not play. I have tried to discover if there is a consistent trend of incompatibility, however this is not the case. I will outline what I have done to combat this problem thus far:

Created an image of the disk-did not work

Extracted the .mov files that did not work through the program and tried to play them on a number of different media players including Quicktime7, VLC, and DIVX- did not work

I am not sure why this is happening, about 3/4 of the .mov files work fine, but the remaining do not work at all. When I open them using Quicktime they bar scrolls, but it does not play either video or sound.

If any of you has a suggestion of why this is happening I would very much appreciate your input.

well i'm not completely sure why its happening. mi first 2 guesses would be that they corrupted or tha cd be scratched. usually vlc can play anyting!

assuming its not tha 2 previous mentioned try playing tha unplayable file and press cmd+i, that will tell you tha specific codec being used for the video and audio layers. once you know them use a search engine to find a place ta dowload them. its worked for me before but there were 3 codecs i COULDN't find, so good luck!
