increase home network speeds...question

so im my home.

there are 4 laptops all connected to wifi, 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and an apple tv and a Synology NAS ( wired to router)
plus some consoles.

my question is what can i do to increase the transfer speeds between laptops and NAS?

i dont have a lot of knowledge of networking and such.

What kind of router do you have at home? WiFi 5? WiFi 6? That’s probably going to be the source of the issue. And secondarily what laptop, phone, and ipad models do you have?

finally, the NAS is likely to be hard drive based, which is obviously slow anyway.

Have you setup a local network, or are all the appliances (laptops. Printers, IPads etc.) just logging on to your internet individually? Also, are all devices using wireless or are some connected by cat5 directly?
just need to decide how to handle all the “Traffic “.

3, windows lenovo laptop

iphones are

1, iphone 15 pro max

local network? not sure waht you mean by this

all devices are connected to the router through wifi, except for the NAS which is connected through ethernet

Your devices will only transfer data over the network to the NAS based on their supported 802.11 WiFi adapters.. and how far away from the router you are... and how much interference there is... and... there are a lot of variables. Have you any idea what your current WiFi network data through put is for each device when transferring data to the NAS?

i sti about 10 feet a way from my NAS and router
im not sure how to get the wifi network data throughput for each device

Then why do you feel your "transfer speeds between laptops and NAS" needs to be increased?

You should be able to log into your router and see all your network speeds/through-put.
