I use the iPhone 16 Pro Max without a case, just with a screen protector. The problem is that it’s super slippery, and I struggle to keep it firmly in my hand.

I was thinking of applying a hydrogel film on the back to improve grip. Do you have any recommendations?

I chose the hydrogel film to preserve the phone’s aesthetics, but if you have other suggestions, I’m all ears!

So basically you want to apply hydrogel to titanium…just like on titanium implants?

Have you considered getting a skin for the back and maybe sides?

Yes, but I can’t find a skin with “natural color” (matte black or clear) where the manufacturer explicitly states that it improves grip.

The only skins that claim to improve grip are the textured ones, but they ruin the phone’s aesthetics.

I’m sorry to hear that. Do you have a shortlist of skins that don’t work so I don’t bother trying them ? I was considering something myself. Thanks

Hi, I’ve tried some back films but without success. I’m talking about films, not skins. The matte ones are very slippery, while the transparent or glossy ones are a bit less so.

I have a Black Titanium Pro Max and want to maintain the matte black style, as I don’t like glossy finishes.

I haven’t tried the matte black skins from Dbrand: the company told me they slightly improve grip, but the most effective ones for grip are those from the Carbon, Matrix, Real Leather skins, or Area 51 lines, but I don’t like any of them.

I’m considering this: https://www.egrips.com/iPhone-11-15-Pro-Max-Plus-p588677022

Thanks for information and please keep us updated. Appreciated.

I miss the old best skins ever and zagg shields with the soapy solution and squeegee. I wonder why they stopped making those.

I just ordered two dbrand skins: one in matte black (low grip, but so beautiful) and another in the Matrix pattern, as they recommended, which should offer better grip.

I just can’t bring myself to like the egrip, no matter how effective it might be.

I’ll update the post once I’ve installed them 👍

Truth, I remember them well… hard to install but with excellent grip.

LOL that takes me back probably 20 years ago or so, I ruined an iPod 5G by applying too much water and soap to a zagg invisible shield. The iPod suddenly died.....

@Jutah Did you ever purchase the eGrip? I'm curious how you're finding it.

No, I wrote via the website to get information about compatibility with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and other details, but they never replied.

And anyway, aesthetically, I don’t like them at all. I think their purpose is designed more to prevent the phone from slipping when it’s placed on a smooth surface, rather than to improve grip while holding it.

I ordered two models of dbrand skins, both aesthetically stunning—one with more grip and the other with less grip. Let’s see when they arrive; I’ll keep the post updated.
