Anyone seen Everythingapplepro latest drop test with the 11 pro and pro max??
It’s amazing , the phones didn’t even get a scratch from repeated 6 foot drops, and only cracked after 2 10 foot drops!!
Apples new glass is incredibly durable it seems

I thought it was going to be terrible because the thumbnail on YouTube showed a completely cracked 11 pro lol. But actually it was waaay better than any iPhone previous. This could be a big deal but I’ll wait to see some other drop tests

I'm not surprised - it just keeps getting better and better. My 7 plus glass has stood up to a ton of abuse and still looks great. Now I better be careful or I'll break it today LOL!

Wonder how it does for scratches? Skip the screen protector?
Saw this thread and was wondering the same thing. I normally don’t use screen protectors, but I’m considering it with the 11 Pro. I guess it’s probably best to wait for JerryRigEverything to test it out.

Maybe will go naked this year. Always use Apple's leather case and Apple/Belkin Screen protector, but would be nice to skip it.

So no link?

The thing is he drops on relatively flat concrete, the problem is when you drop it on a sidewalk or other surface that has little rocks.

I hate cases but always use them out of fear... I bought a clear one for my soon-to-be-here 11Pro, not sure I'm brave enough to go without...

Does the 11 have the same glass or just the pro.
It won’t be any better than before. You can either have a super hard screen (no scratches but breaks easily) or strong (harder to break but scratches easier).

One test is insufficient data to determine durability. I'd wait for multiple tests since it's largely dependent on how it falls and where it hits which are unpredictable.

Tom's Hardware did an informal drop test and the results were "disappointing".

So you need to change this thread heading to 'Dropgate' or something appropriate. 😀

(I just bought one and would never expect it to stand up a drop on concrete no matter what they use)

Glassgate.
