Is it possible to have the text boxes laid out on the master page, but then be editable on the normal pages so different text can be added?

Yes. Cmd-Shift-click the text box you want to edit while on the normal page.

Thanks, is it control shift click on windows? Have to use a PC at work 🙁

I've always wondered if you could denote objects in masterpages as editable, so you can forgo the command shift click procedure.
