Hi, When I outline text in indesign I have a problem – if the text was in a text box with a coloured background this background will disappear leaving just the text in outline.

Anyone know how I can get round this?

Cheers!

It works for me.😕

Why dont you just type in the text and draw a box and put it behind the text.

Yeah, I could do that but I want to use the box bounds to centre the text in it easily, saves me drawing 2 boxes and keeping them grouped. Ah well thanks for the reply.

the two box method i believe is your only way of doing it...but if you want to center the text after you created outlines, just use the "Align" Panel. and align the objects centered.
