Why would it? The US voted a felon and Russian asset as its President and its been down hill from there. US businesses have been falling over themselves to laud this administration including Apple, so its not like there is any high ground to stand on for Tim Cook and his team.
How can this happened in a vibrant democracy? I am glad this can never happen in freedom loving ‘Murica. Personal privacy is untouchable here.

India's economy lags that of California. In 2024, India's nominal GDP was ~$3.9 trillion. California was $4.1 trillion with a population less than 3% the size of India. That works out per capita to be ~$2,785 in India and ~$102,500 in California.
Android accounts for ~95.7% of smart phones in India. iOS is only ~4%.
