Inexpensive non-iPod mp3 player advice?

My daughter (8 years old) wants to buy an mp3 player. The cheapest iPod is out of her price range, so I'm looking for any suggestions on a decent mp3 player for under $30. Anyone have experience with any you'd like to recommend?

Today, right now at woot.com, sansa for $25. I think it's a 4gb w/ video. Great site. I've bought from them several times.

I would recommend anything Creative makes. Before switching to an iPod, I was a huge Creative fan. They make fantastic products, all of which have amazing sound quality. The low-end model may be out of your price range, but they are very durable, which is good for a youngster.

I would search ebay for a like new ipod shuffle for $25.
