The solution is ignore the warning and hit no when it asks if you want to put the phone in airplane mode. It does not effect any functionality at all of the way the radio interacts with the phone or any functionality of the phone.

I get the same message with my 2008 Mercedes with iPod integration...I just hit "NO" and it plays and charges just fine...

Very nice, I have an 04 g35 without nav and really want to get a double din kit to add one but don't have the money right now

I have been using my 2G in the G37 for almost 2 years now and i haven't had any problems with the phone. Just ignore the warning its apple's way of scaring you into buying some overpriced adapter from them.

Also the 2G charges the 3G and 3GS wont charge with the equipment that comes with the G37, which is really unfair. My friend had mentioned he had the same problem with his car (not an infiniti) so i am led to believe that apple tweaked the newer phones not to charge so you would go out and buy some overpriced adapter from them, lol.

As for the car menu for the iPod function, its really a little messy. I have about 900 songs in my iPhone and going through the song list is nearly impossible if the song i want to play starts with a letter in the middle or higher in the alphabet, you have to go through every song to get there.

Also it may be a glitch but if i click say genre - rock- artist - pick an album- then pick a song, then decide to pick another rock artist by backing out of the song screen it wont select the option, i basically have to go back to the iPod menu and reclick my option for another artist or album. Really annoying.

The 3.0 update actually improved the podcast function before i would have to fast forward the podcast to get to another part, its corrected to be broken up like individual tracks and you can skip between them.

Also for some reasons you can't sync the phonebook to the car, you have to manually enter your contacts.

Besides all that the car really is great, and the iPhone/iPod hook up plays well in terms of sound quality.

Enjoy and congrats on the G37 convertible!!

to each there own.. i owned a 2003 G35 coupe and that pop-up nav SUCKED. looked like someone added a toaster to the car. seriously.. the navigation performed well.. but that pop-up didnt do justice that 40k car.

the new nav on the g37 is as close to perfect as you can get. the "iDrive" knob as you mentioned is one of many options.. voice, touchscreen, steering etc. use what works for ya. dont knock it till you try it. the BMW iDrive is terrible..

I have a 2009 BMW 335i E92 and have the 'new' hard drive based Idrive system. It is completely logical and works flawlessly w/ the iphone/ipod (all the things you mentioned above work the same on the idrive). Only the 3 series has this new high res i-drive so far, but its a million times better than the previous idrive and comparable to Infiniti/Lexus in usability. With the new screen, the res is much better than the competitors too.

I know this is off topic, but I also prefer the Bimmer (only the 335i sport though, the 328i just doesnt have enough power). Plus it drives much much better, but overall both cars are very nice!

That's not a real person that posted. If you notice, the post is an exact quote of something already posted. Also notice that the poster became a member today. I have been seeing a lot of this lately. Not sure exactly what it is, but it's not a real person.

I have the 2009 G37 converticle and have the exact same problem. I've not had any help from the dealership...has anyone found a solution?

Toyota/Lexus....iPhone works very well with it. Especially their new entune system that automatically loads your songs and contacts.
