Apps Infuse for Apple TV Released

Most any SBS and TAB 3D video will work, though unfortunately the Apple TV does not currently support MVC based 3D video.

Infuse will convert normal 2D subtitles to 3D when played with a 3D video, and if you already have 3D subs those should work just fine as well.
 
Hi All,
New member and also new owner of ATV 4K. Moved from Android box.
I like Infuse purely because it looks like i can keep all content on a NAS and not require a PC to run a server.

I am probably missing a lot of tweaks as i have yet to read the previous 64 pages here hehe.

However, where could i get assistance with the library and views on the app?

When i open Infuse, it shows me all the shares and then the last icon is the library.
Is there any way to just have the library as the the default opening screen? Possibly the only screen (just with headings Movies, TV Shows etc.)

Also why do some shows display in folders (without thumbnails) while others display as separate icons with thumbnails?

I imagine i will have a lot more questions going forward, but for now Infuse looks like a pretty solid app
 
I still seem to be having an issue with it forgetting my network share.
I'm sure it is something on my end since no one else seems to have the issue.
Is there a FAQ on the best way to set up the share so Infuse can keep the connection?
It seems to be a name resolution thing because when it scans for libraries, it shows the IP address first, then when I delete my share as a favorite, the name pops in again.

the icons i used for Movies and Tv are from the link in that article to custom artwork

It's a little clunky to set up, not exactly intuitive but read the user guides and fiddle around... ;-)

(Think the icons i'm using are from the javiervitorero-me and the "Dark Mode" folder dropbox link and the Apple TV set in 'dark' mode in settings 'General' > 'Appearance' )

This sounds like it may be related to a bug in the 5.6.9 update which we've resolved and will have an update for in the next few days.

As coops mentioned, the Library 101 page is a good place to start as it describes a few ways on how you can customize what you see on the home screen by allowing you to add favorites for things like All Movies, genres, recently added TV shows, etc... and you can also hide folders so they don't clutter things up.

It would be nice to have setting that allowed you to go straight into "Library," or have it got straight to "Library" if there are no favorites set.

If there are no favorites, the flow right now seems to have an unnecessary step on ATV. After opening the app, you have only one option: Library. You have to select that to get to your content. If it's the only choice, might as well just go straight to library.

We have some exciting things in progress in this area for 5.7, but in the current version you can set a Library category as a favorite which will allow it to appear as an icon on the home screen. In essence, this is the same as jumping straight into the Library as you are simply 1-click away from seeing a list of videos.

To do this, simply browse your Library for a category and long-press on it to add it as a favorite. A bit more info on this can be found here.

Thanks everyone for the resources. Needless to say i will be spending some time with setup and metadata.

How about Music Videos? Any way of adding a metadata scrapper for them and playing all in shuffle mode?
 
I just updated one of my ATV4 (old model) to tvOS 11.3. Now Infuse can no longer play AC3 tracks correctly; they just produce a crackling noise. AAC 2.0 and FLAC 5.1 tracks still play fine. This happens with both the "best quality" and DD5.1 passthrough audio settings.

EDIT: Correction: This happens only when audio output is set to "Passthrough" in Infuse (I mixed up the Apple and Infuse settings). I use this setting on this particular ATV4 because the audio system is connected via HDMI ARC which doesn't support multichannel PCM, and passthrough avoids a transcoding step (AC3->PCM->AC3) when playing AC3 tracks as I understand it. When Infuse is set to "Auto" the tracks play fine.

There are a few issues we were hoping Apple would resolve before the release of 11.3, and unfortunately this is one of them.

We're looking into potential workarounds for this, but for now you can set to Infuse to Auto and the Apple TV to either Dolby Digital or Best Quality Available to at least have audio working.

Any ideas why I cannot connect my new My Cloud via NFS? SMB connects fine, but I would prefer the former. My My Book on the same network is working just fine via NFS. Very strange.

Edit - Wow! No NFS support on single-bay My Cloud drives. Problem solved.

Same issue here, using DD5.1 isn’t really what we’re paying for with our subscription though is it. I understand this change has been forced on you but hopefully you’re working on this issue as a priority?

We're looking into what options we have, though it may be an issue that needs to be solved on Apple's end.

FWIW, with Infuse set to Auto and the Apple TV set to Best Quality Available, you'll be able to get the same quality (or better in some cases) audio. A bit more info on how this works can be found here.

Same Problem with cracking noise (if under Settings Sound is Passthrough) under 5.6.11.

Not fixed yet. Is this a Problem with Infuse or Apple iOS 11.3 ?

It’s the 11.3 firmware. MrMC has the same problem. Passthrough limits sound quality anyway (all HD sound formats get downgraded to Dolby digital or dts) so unless your audio device can’t handle multi-stream pcm it’s best left off.
 
I know this. It's a Workaround. But I want that my Denon AVR Shows Dolby Digital or DTS. If you change to Auto the AVR shows Multi-Channel-In. Is not what I want. For the Moment it's ok to Switch the Sound Setting, but I want my old Settings back without cracking.
