I have been trying to get this working and no luck.

Infuse free app on aTV4, shared late 2012 iMac running latest El Capitan, all over an Airport Extreme current gen.

I have the Movie folder on my iTunes directory set for file sharing in the appropriate control panel. I have typed my user name and password into the setup on Infuse. It just sits there with the spinning sphincter wheel telling me its checking the connection.

WTH?

Sorry to hear about that!

You may check to ensure Windows File Sharing is enabled, with at least one user selected.

A bit more info on this can be found here.

Thanks very much for the response. I did get it worked out but it was a real bear. The online documentation really needs some work, and thats putting it charitably. If you folks are open to some help with that, I could send some notes.

I found that I had to set up a new user on my iMac, which I called "Infuse", and give it its own password. Then I had to allow it to share my media folder, which took some doing. Also had to turn off AFP, and check the box next to Infuse in the Windows sharing pane. The account and/or password wasn't recognized many times, and I tried it capitalized and not capitalized. Once it went through I could turn AFP back on.

It all finally worked, and I'm thankful. It seems like a very decent player, and I hope to put it to use this weekend. The TV episode handling needs some work though. I ended up completely deleting my episodes from the library. They're not as important as my local movie folder, so I'm not really upset with that.

Sorry about that, but it's good to hear you're up and running.

We have become aware of login issue when using an iCloud ID as your Mac's login - in this case you would need to set up a separate 'Sharing Only' user in order to stream to Infuse (as you already discovered).

We'll be adding details about this to the streaming guide shortly.
