My only experience was with a Mac IIcx back in the 90s.

I seem to remember there was a folder called "Inits" where a program or utility icon could be stored. Programs or utilities found in the INIT folder would launch automatically after the machine booted.

Can't find that on this new Mac. Is there any similar function to launch what would be called "startup programs" on a PC ? ? ?

If you go to Accounts in System Preferences, there's a tab there for log-in items. If this is about iCal, then it doesn't need to be running for the reminders to pop up. Experiment with it.

Thanks again, BlueVelvet

Guess I missed something.

Regards,
