Installing 27 beta. No joy.
Haven’t been able to update at all since macOS 26.4 beta.
Was already set to Full Security. No joy.
Run logs thru AIs, they keep observing log containing prolific lines like
“Input buffer size mismatch: expected [large number] B, got 0 B”
Can’t get it to stop doing delta checks and just install the new files over what’s there.
Thoughts?

more info please? hardware? which macOS version is installed? which 27 beta do you want to install? what error message exactly?

Mac16,5
macOS 26.4 beta 25E5223i
Want 27 beta 2 or whatever is latest (hasn’t worked since that 26 beta was installed)
“An error occurred preparing the update. Failed to prepare the software update. Please try again.”
Install log is full of aforementioned “expected N bytes, got 0” errors.

How are you trying to do the update? Did you download the latest full installer and run that from the Application folder or did you make a macOS installer USB disk (needs a 32GB USB disk)?
The full installer is available at the Mr. Macinfosh site, <https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-golden-gate-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/> Run the pgk installer, which puts the actual Full installer file in the Applications folder.
You can then use that full installer disk (in the Applications folder) to run the Terminal Command shown below to make the USB installer disk. Requires a 32GB USB disk, scheme: GUID partition map, name: untitled and format: macOS Extended (Journaled)
Code:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 27\ Golden\ Gate\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled

I’m way past “did you try restarting it” type solutions.

Need the “Input buffer size mismatch” log error addressed.

You are on your own then. The method used to install could well have been the cause of those errors you are seeing in that log, which is why I asked about the install method.
