Hello. I am currently having an issue connecting my cassette player to my macbook pro. I have tried the 3.5 mm cable method to no avail (I was made aware that the headphone jack wouldn't work as an input for the cassette player). So now I have a USB cable connecting the two. The issue now is the warning I am getting: USB Devices Disabled. Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable devices.

I'm just trying to find a way to record my cassette tapes onto my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My macbook pro retina is 2 months old. The cassette player I am using is a portable RCA recorder (4 AA batteries)(not plugged into outlet).
