I'm on Beta 3 now. Betas 1 and 2 were perfectly fine on the battery. Nothing crazy noticeable. But now, I'm having major drops... and have no clue what could be doing it. Even with Indexing in the previous two Betas, it was nothing like this. I'm still "stuck" at 47% - Optimizing Search and Siri, but could that even be what is draining things so quickly? I've done Force Quits of all apps, restarted the phone multiple times. Nothing seems to help. Would love to not have to do a RESTORE. 😬 Thanks for any advice!

Sorry to say it, but the culprit is that it is a beta. Runaway processes are relatively common during testing. Report it. The logs might help them tidy up the code in later betas. This is why people think betas lower their battery health, because you spend the hottest months of the year literally cooking your phone with unfinished code. That can cause damage to the battery over time if left unchecked.

Will do! Thanks!

Did you check under Settings > Battery to see what might be draining it so much? If you see a particular 3rd party app at the top of the list, perhaps remove it temporarily.

You could also try:

1) A Force Restart -

2) Reinstalling Beta 3 with an IPSW file on top of your existing installation. You will need a computer for it (ideally a Mac), but it will keep all of your data and settings intact.

There are quite a few of us, including me, running iOS 27 betas without an “insane” battery drain, so it would still be interesting to get to the bottom of it.

To reduce the potential battery damage to a minimum during the beta period, we can charge in shorter top-up sessions, use lower W chargers and avoid charging to 100%.

Close all your apps and see if you can eliminate them one by one as being the culprit. DB1 was losing battery like crazy. Turned out it was a particular app. Closed it and battery life was same as iOS 26. They've since updated the app (thankfully) and it's fixed it.
