People must be nuts.
There are used old iPads going for more than iPad Mini 2's on eBay.
Why in the hell is that? I want a used one to use as a screen but for the price they are asking I might as well get a new iPad mini 2.

Sellers on eBay think people are srupid. Actually, some of them are, or at least they are not informed buyers. So a mom hears her son say, I want an iPad. She goes to eBay and finds one for 250 usd and thinks thats not bad... And buys it, not even understanding about old tech.
The sellers are hoping to hook one of those fish and many do. eBay used to be a good place to find a great deal, but not any more.

Did you check to see how many of those ACTUALLY were sold for the price that was asked for? I looked up the completed listings for 1st & 2nd gen iPads on my eBay app, and a lot of them appear either to have went unsold, or went for between $75 (1st gen, 16gb) and $200 (2nd gen, 64gb)...

With no links we can only assume you are just picking the 1 silly iPad that has never sold for $5,000.

Don't confuse finished listings and unsuccessful listings. If you only find expensive deals, it's because nobody buys them. Good deals disappear in the blink of an eye. When I knew little about eBay and sh[t, I sometimes ended up selling something underpriced, which would be sold within 5 minutes.
