We have an application which upon pushing a button closes the app and opens the iphone SMS application. We are trying to do both of the following:

1) open to an contact of choice (in other words: when SMS opens it opens with the person in contacts that the SMS will be sent to)

2) insert a set text which comes from application(so just a line of text that will always be the same)

So in other words: When user selects the button, our app closes, SMS opens to the correct person and inserts a text line into the UITextField, so the user just needs to push send.

Are either of these two things possible....Been looking everywhere and can't find any literature.

Thank you.

I don't think it's possible to insert text. However you can use the sms: URL to open a new text message to a specific number.
